Rizal Series: Casa Ibiza Resort

When my sister Cielo texted me about the online deal she got from Ensogo for a 10-person (P5,500) overnight stay at Casa Ibiza Resort in Antipolo, I got really hyped up and excited. For sometime I had been thinking of a place near Manila where we can spend our family summer outing, and her message came just in time for our parents and Eena's visit in Manila. 

I immediately googled information about the resort. The photos on their website are absolutely enticing. But when I searched for more details, my excitement waned and easily shifted to disappointment. There's just too many negative and bashing comments from some bloggers who have been to there , and they wrote lengthily about the poor sanitation and bad customer service they experienced in the resort.

Despite my qualms about the trip, I was left with no other option but to pursue the trip as planned since the voucher was already paid. So we called Casa Ibiza for our reservation, hoping that we will be treated well and kindly during our stay. 

Along with my parents and siblings, we trooped to Antipolo on a hot Friday afternoon.  Antipolo City has always been an option for weekend getaways for people residing in Manila. Aside from the fact that it's just an hour drive from the city, it also has resorts and restaurants offering a good view of the metropolis, especially during night time.


Antipolo is also home to the National Shrine of Our Lady of Voyage, a church visited by thousands of devout Catholics yearly. Before heading to the resort, we stopped by this church to say our quick prayers. Cielo ushered us to the rear side where a room full of church memorabilia and photos is set. From there, I had the chance to see closer to the image of Our Lady of Voyage.

From the church, we headed straight to the resort. We reached Casa Ibiza  a little after two p.m. At first sight, I was impressed with the mexican-themed and multi-colored villas and cabanas. The whole place offers a very refreshing sight. The amenities inside include two pools, spa room, gazebo, bridgeway and a restaurant. After settling our reservation, we were led to our villa. The one assigned to us is a 3-floor grand villa which has three rooms, a private balcony, 2 bathrooms, parking garage, dining and a living area with lcd tv.

Everything was going well until we found out that the aircon in one of the rooms in our villa is busted and the TV in the living room has no signal. We forwarded our issues to the management and they immediately responded by sending a staff to do the fix. Ok, and I thought that was quick and good. But to cut the story short, the TV got fixed but the aircon remained busted. We used only two of the three rooms during our whole stay.

Another thing I noticed during our stay is the lack of resort staff. We had to wait more than an hour before our food (dinner and breakfast) got served. We had dinner at 9 p.m. and breakfast at 9 a.m. Poor thing, only one person was attending to the needs of the many guests waiting in the dining area. It was apparent that some of the guests, including my father, were annoyed by the slow service.


We would have wanted to bring our own food but because of the corkage fee they impose, we decided to just stick with their in-house food and drinks. Only water, cookies, and chips brought from outside are free of charge.

While our stay at Casa Ibiza was not perfect, I'd say that overall, we enjoyed the place. The whole gang had fun swimming in the pool and  had a restful overnight sleep. I love the peaceful and quiet time I had in the balcony outside our room while staring at the clear and starry sky, and enjoying the cool summer breeze in Antipolo.  I like the colorful walls of the villas, the landscaped garden and the charming gazebo. I find the place to be very picturesque, a plus point for shutterbugs like me. I just hope that the resort management will fix some of the kinks to make the whole Casa Ibiza experience a perfect one.

How to get there: 

• Via Private Land Transportation

Ortigas to Casa Ibiza:


From Ortigas Ave Extension you will have to make a U-turn near Chowking which is along Manila East Road (the road going to Taytay) then turn right again at the  Ortigas Ave Extension   road that is going up to Antipolo; same direction where jeepney’s to Antipolo and Tanay are going.


When you reach the top, take the road going to Ynares and go straight until you reach the intersection where you’ll see Shopwise on your left, turn right at the intersection and go straight.


You’ll pass by Lores Country Market, Pines City, and Havila Subdivision before you get to see the signage of Maia Alta on your left side, turn left on that street and go straight.


When you get to the end of the road, turn left and go straight wherein you’ll see CASA IBIZA on your left side.

Makati/ Shaw/ Ortigas to Caza Ibiza: 


Beside AYALA MRT STATION, STARMALL, and MEGAMALL; there is an FX terminal, ride the FX going to ANTIPOLO SIMBAHAN.


And from ANTIPOLO SIMBAHAN ride a trycicle and inform the driver to take you to CASA IBIZA at Sapang Buho Road Barangay Dalig 2, which is right beside Courtyard and Maia Alta Subdivision.
